Green giant arborvitae is tall and fast-growing (with a growth rate of 3-5’ per year), making a perfect privacy screen that you can count on having relatively shortly after planting. The glossy, scale-like, dark green needles keep their beautiful color throughout most of the winter and produce relatively smaller cones (1/2” long). These trees prefer fertile well-drained soil, but moist soil.
