Considered more of an elegant version of the birch species, Single stem river birch makes for a great planting choice with being more heat resistant and moisture tolerant. This medium-to-large tree is best known for its curling, paper-like bark. While this birch variety prefers full sun to light shade, it is adaptable to most soils and is fast-growing. If you are looking for more of a clean lined landscape or looking for something closer to a house or walkway, the Single stem river birch may be a good option.
